With the banishment of the Shifters, Humans had quickly taken over the world through their numbers and adaptability. Elves, on the other hand, took their time. Prior to the collapse, they were told to have a lifespan that far exceeded that of any mortal race, previously unheard of.​

Said to have a beauty untold, and riches greater than any man, before the Nymphs they were called Nature’s Incarnate. Each branch of Elf possesses distinct qualities unique to their innate connection with the world. Because of these tall tales told, most Elves tend to have an overinflated ego regarding themselves.

SUN ELF

Appearance​

Sun Elves have earned their moniker due to their sun-kissed appearance. Their skin ranges from quite fair to ebony in nature, it can be said the darker ranger of their flesh proves a more pure bloodline. Hair is likened to spun gold, threads of copper, and fire itself, often kept in a long fashion. The eyes of a Sun Elf can vary as well, from ambers to golds, even the sparse emerald shade can be seen. If one looks closely enough, they might catch a glimmer of a light that mirrors the sun.​

With the dawn of the common era, Sun Elves have manage to keep their unique appearance about themselves, as there is a belief their innate abilities are connected deeply to it. Similar to Moon Elves, Sun Elves carry tattoo-like markings that illuminate during the day, regardless of if they can see the sun or not. They are hereditary, with patterns remaining similar within families but evolving with each generation.

Traits​
Sunlight Resilience - Thriving in the daylight, Sun Elves have a natural resistance to both heat and the effects of the sun’s rays. They will never experience heat exhaustion or sunburn while on Volaris.

Solar Affinity - A natural affinity can be found for beings associated with light, Sun Elves are seen neutrally by these creatures and will not attack unless first provoked.​

Appearance​
Moon Elf.png
Two halves of the same coin, Moon Elves are known for the likeness of the moon. Their skins tend on the paler-side, sometimes silver in tone that seems to radiate in the night. Though it is less common, they can also appear darker, their flesh taking on deep ebony and purplish tones. The hair of a Moon Elf ranges from strands of silver, to pure white, transitioning into dark blues or even black.

Moon Elven eyes are from sky blues, to violet, and even silver as their hair. They hold a depth to their eyes not unlike a bottomless pond, sometimes said to twinkle with starlight. As the counterpart of Sun Elves they also bear hereditary markings that illuminate during the dark hours of the night, regardless of location.

Traits

Astral Coordination - During the night, Moon Elves are able to enter into a meditative trance. This allows them to innately feel the cardinal directions and commune with their ancestral spirits.​

This communion can be seen as ancestors lending their mundane knowledge, such as cooking, dealing with social issues, and other various topics. These spirits cannot gain information about the world beyond what they have been told by the player character.


Lunar Affinity - Moon Elves have a natural affinity for creatures associated with darkness. These creatures will view the Elf as neutral, and will not attack first unless provoked.

FOREST ELF

Appearance

Forest Elves have come into existence in the more recent times, appearing closer to Humans than the two other branches of Elves. While they are still taller and more slender than a Human on average, they fall short in comparison to their celestial forefathers.​



Their appearance is more widely varied, their skin from a sunny winter day to the depths of the woodlands, and their eyes reflecting that of a forest. Greens, blues, brown of every tone can be seen within this branch of Elf. Notably, Forest Elves have not inherited any familiar markings, though some families have taken to artificially tattooing their bodies to make up for this difference.

Traits
​
Hourglass - Forest Elves are sensitive to the passing of time and subtle changes in the environment. They are remarkably accurate at gauging the passage of time and the changing of seasons. This ability also gives them insight on if magic was recently used in an area, though they cannot tell what kind or how long ago.​

Harmonic Resonance - As if in tune with the rhythm of the world itself, Forest Elves are able to naturally attune themselves to the harmonies and vibrations present in their surroundings. They have a profound understanding and appreciation for music, and are able to create melodies that cannot be replicated by other races.​

This presents itself in detecting changes in heart beats, advantage on rolls involving detecting structural weaknesses, when in physical contact, and advantage on performance rolls that include music.
