Memorized Scriptures:
Associated God: Universal
Cost: Something of great value and memory to the Faithful. This could range from but not be limited to: their most prized weapon, a well-loved belonging from a person of significance, or an heirloom they’ve kept for their lifetime.
Communion: The greater the item of significance, the greater the boon. As well, willing individuals can pay the cost in a group effort to bolster the result. In most extreme cases, the cost can be paid with a significant life, such as the Faithful’s lover. Dark and dire, yet enough of a stake to prove worthy sacrifice.
Effect: The ritual performer(s) seek to mend the world of a great stain or corruption. Through tribute and prayer, they move themselves with divine will to erase an area of land of its sources of plague or rot. It would be as if nothing had disturbed that targeted area for eons, reality and time turning back to a more prosperous glimpse. Purity, everlasting.
Intended Consequences: The Faithful, and any others who paid tribute, will receive a permanent blur to their memory of the trinket, as well as any associated ones that have to do with it. These could be as minimal as forgetting the use of it, to causing them to wholly forget its significance and the people tied to it.
Ritual Name: Sacrament of Creed
Associated God: Universal
Cost: A blessed elegy to their God. As well, an offering of the self, sacrificing a part of themselves - whether physical or mental - to achieve greatness for the intended target of the ritual. The Faithful themselves can be a target.
Communion: The Faithful can bring together passionate individuals who wholly endorse them to empower the ritual. They too can further strengthen it by giving their own sacrifice of themselves as a truly selfless gesture to show their belief in the Faithful.
Effect: The Faithful leads in a series of chants, caressing their tongue with language divine as to speak their desires to their God themselves. Through sacrifice, and demonstrated willingness, if the target isn’t already part of a system, they become Faithful to that God as an Initiate. Alternatively, if the Faithful chooses themselves to desire a boon, they will be given a permanent boon themselves. This Ritual can only be performed once on that target.
Intended Consequences: The Faithful, and any others who paid communion, will be given a permanent debuff that could affect themselves in combat or general well-being. The more Communion that is donated, the lesser the debuff to all. All changes to the characters must be noted on their sheets.
Ritual Name: The Tithe of Craving
Associated God: Universal
Cost: A sizable portion of the Faithful’s blood. This blood must be fresh, and the blood cost increases if more is demanded from the Ritual.
Communion: Other individuals can donate their own fresh blood as part of the ritual, especially if the desired selected area of the ritual is larger or more universally accessed.
Effect: Through selecting and performing the Ritual in the location the Faithful desires, they seek to bless it and forbid the forces of chaos from entry. Examples of locations could be, but are not limited to: a personal household, guild building, or church. Through devotion to their God, they grace it with a divine blessing such that those of vile corruption cannot enter without invitation, nor forced into it against their will. Sources of vile corruption consist of the Hunger, but the Faithful could specify others as they wish, be they Enkindled or specific individuals. The Faithful can only have one location at a time blessed this way. If the location in question is destroyed or desecrated, or their God rejects the Faithful at a later date, the location loses its blessing.
Intended Consequences: The Faithful will be lethargic for a short while due to the immense strain and blood loss of the ritual. This is lessened with greater Communion. So long as the blessing is active, the Faithful will find themselves with an annoying and persistent craving for minor vices.
Ritual Name: Rite of Ultimate Dissuasion
Associated God: Universal
Cost: An investment of vulnerability is required from the Faithful. A sacrifice of arms, a sacrifice of health, and a sacrifice of constitution all the same. The Faithful must enter this ritual taxed.
Communion: Other individuals can contribute to this by joining the Faithful in their taxing sacrifices, further boasting the dire need from the divine.
Effect: The Faithful beckons for ultimate order to reign free across their realm, be this city, state, or swathe of land. The presence of the divine will be felt over all, giving unnatural compulsion to dissuade themselves from breaking the tenants of the Faithful’s God. This compulsion is obviously unnatural, and the consideration of attempting such will give the individual an eerie feeling that they are being watched until they forget their impulse. Creatures and doers of chaos will feel discouraged to draw close or otherwise enact their madness due to the sheer weight of divine presence. This does not stop those with strong enough will, but will intimidate them, nonetheless. These overwhelming effects will last for 1 OOC week, wherein the Faithful will know immediately when and where a violation of a tenant committed in their desired territory.
Intended Consequences: For the duration of the imposed effect, the Faithful will suffer detriment to their constitution and own defense. This bane is dampened by greater Communion, depending on the amount of chaos and passionate seekers of order in participation. In rare instances, enough individuals in this ritual could completely mitigate this consequence.
