Branding

Those who become the Faithful undergo a branding by the gods by taking an oath. Once they have been filled with the essence of their god, a symbol of their worship will appear somewhere on their body. It is often accompanied by a painful burning sensation as their skin will melt into the shape. This symbol is unique to their worship, and can go unnoticed to the naked eye unless the Faithful wills it.

As the Faithful becomes more in tune with their god, and in return receiving more power, this mark will grow and change with their progression. The Faithful are tasked with upholding the unbreaking tenants of their god, often facing punishment if they are to go against them.


 

Level of Faith

  • Aspiring (Level 0)
    • Cannot learn scriptures, two weeks.
  • Initiate (Level 1)
    • Can learn up to two scriptures, one month
  • Acolyte (Level 2)
    • Can learn up to four scriptures, one months.
  • Paladin (Level 3)
    • Can learn up to six scriptures, two months
  • Saint (Level 4)
    • Can learn up to eight scriptures, two months.
  • Champion (Level 5)
    • Can learn up to ten scriptures, gain an artifact, three months.
  • Totaling nine months within the system

Cost

Faithful cast through harnessing their vitality, only so much is able to be expended in a day before causing irreversible harm. For simplicity, the Faithful have a set amount of vitality that they can spend at each level, doubling each time they rank up. The cost of the scripture they cast is the same as its level. The Faithful cannot stop reciting a scripture without forfeiting the required vitality for the scripture.

Those who continue on the path of the Faithful devote most of their life and time to this endeavor, reducing the amount of occupational slots by one. Those who take on the path of the Faithful are also barred from other afflictions, such as the Enkindled, and Martial systems.


 

Catalysts

The faithful are known to carry with them objects of their faith, marked upon them the oaths that they follow and abide by. These objects can be of any material or shape, worn or carried but will always have enough room for scriptures to be written, etched or carved into their visible surface.

Custom Scriptures

The Faithful is allowed to create a custom spell at each level, equaling a total of five custom scriptures. The player is allowed to submit one application a month, with one active application at a time, to the Systems team. These scriptures must be fully documented on the character’s affliction profile.

If a player chooses to make their custom scripture into a base scripture, it will no longer count against their custom scripture limit.

Artifacts

At the pinnacle of faith, the gods can bestow their followers with an artifact. This artifact is unique to the Faithful and is considered the most powerful part of their arsenal.

Upon reaching Champion, the Faithful can create a ticket with the Systems team to create an artifact that best suits their character’s journey.


 

All players are required to keep track of their level, scriptures, and progress within their affliction profile, as well as any other status’ affecting their character. It’s suggested to keep a link to your affliction profile whenever joining an event for quick reference or for DM information.
