Metallurgy

This compendium will consist of all the currently known metals within Volaris. As more is discovered and researched this list will begin to grow to reflect the development made by the pioneers of the world.

Mundane Metals

Common

Iron, copper, tin, and other various common materials are found abundantly within the world. These materials can be used and transformed into better options by those who are skilled enough.

Mundane Metals

Uncommon

Bronze alloys and similar metals which either cannot be found naturally or require a little more skill to find and locate within the world.

Fulgurite

Uncommon

The formation of Fulgurite is often found to be a mystery to most, though it is commonly believed that the material is formed by lightning storms striking intensely cold locations, freezing the lightning itself. Visually, the material is found in veins resembling the form of lightning; with a strikingly bright, white appearance that appears glassy. If the material is taken and worked by a smith, it is found to be malleable akin to metal; and when formed into protective items such as shields, gauntlets, or boots the material has been shown to disperse lightning or other electrical dangers that strike its surface to the surrounding area, oftentimes being known to be dangerous to those around the wielder.

Fae Threads

Uncommon

Fae Threads boasts an incredible ability to protect against blade damage. It was discovered by a group of Southern Humans who, while hunting within an Sun Elven Enclaves territory found a material that resembled copper within a state of verdigris, however when it was cut into the metal retained its blue-green tint throughout. An encounter with a Sun Elf hunter found that the copper-like metal had been drawn into strands as thin as a blade of grass and woven into the hunter's clothes, protecting it from the cutting and clawing of animals that they may have encountered. The avarice of the humans led to them mining deep into forest floors to discover more of Fae Threads. It is considered to boast the same strength as bronze, however its ability to be weaved into garments makes it ever more valuable for cloaks and gloves.
