  a brief .. Prelude

    House Alatriste is a Brasquerro house that was elevated to the upper-class by rite challenge two generations ago by Emilliano Alatriste, they were a lowly house of military excellence who emerged victorious in a Rite of Beast challenge against House Conde. They are a relatively unknown yet affluent household and are rapidly making waves in the wake of the rise of Patriarch Francisco Alatriste, the grandson of Emilliano, who is making far more ambitious maneuvers than his forefathers.

01 : .. Family Profession
House Alatriste is a household consisting primarily of militants, led by Francisco Alatriste, eldest son of Alfonso Alatriste son of Emilliano Alatriste. The house is affluent primarily due to the efforts of Alfonso Alatriste who integrated well into the upper strata of Brasquerro society, now Francisco Alatriste leverages this affluence in an effort to garner the house land and political notoriety in the city of Sanctuary. 

02 : .. Family Heritage and Members

 Depicted below is a family tree, a description of each living member of the house is also provided.

Ramona Alatriste (NPC) (86) - Ramona is the oldest living relative of the household, and is revered for her pragmatism and hotheadedness. 

Francisco Alariste (Played by MrBlwe) (40) - Francisco is the current patriarch of the household and is unmarried but had several children with his consort Maira Guevara. He is well known for a particularly dismissive and flippant attitude, and is the current head of the Order of Witchers of the Bull.

Rafael Alatriste (Played by EVIL_ROMEO) (29) - Rafael is brother to the current patriarch of the household, he is an unmarried socialite and an infamous swordsman, and is a member of the Order of Witchers of the Bull.

Felipe Alatriste (Played by diCardinale) (24) - Felipe is Francisco’s eldest son, and notoriously a poor combatant. Though he is reported to be something of an effective tactician, and seemingly assists his father in matters of import regarding the Order of Witchers of the Bull.

Bernardo Alatriste (Played by Burner_Flames) (21) - Bernardo is Francisco's youngest son and considered heir to his title. Contrary to his father and uncle, he is a no nonsense man dedicated readily to the advancements of his family's goals and the Order of Witchers of the Bull.

Adelina Alatriste (Played by madsilver) (19) - Adelina is Francisco's youngest child, a socialite much like her uncle. She is apparently doted upon as the youngest, and is almost always in attendance at events of significant import.

Esmée-Esmerelda Alatriste (Played by garluza) (20) - Esmée is the most peculiar daughter of Francisco, apparently something of a bookworm, she is frequently absent from notable events but engages on occasion seemingly per her father's requests. It is rumored she has a terrible affliction of some kind that renders her sickly.

Family Etiquette

House Alatriste is considered a relatively normal house; however, amidst standard etiquette procedures the Patriarch is known to frequently break protocol in numerous small infractions. Yet, for the large part, the majority of the household is deferential and respectful to appropriate etiquette and authority of titleage.

Family Philosophy

House Alatriste is a house that prides itself on pragmatism and practicality. They are never eager to jump ship, and always caution a secondary analysis before executing a plan. Yet, they are equally prudent regarding their own patience, as once a thing is decided there is no time for second guessing.

The House considers what must be done is what is no greater than necessary for the proliferation of the family, its knightly order, and the people in that exact order. This level of scrutiny is applied to all things that the family has within its capacity to govern or decide upon, and even visions of grandeur for the future.

To House Alatriste, there is no greater threat than the aberrant world that pushed humankind to the brink of extinction. While not explicitly anti-magic, House Alatriste recognizes what reckless and wanton magical conduct could render upon humankind. Hitherto undreamt of proportions of desolation must be avoided by a pragmatic approach to the cataloguing of magical usage, identification of magical weaknesses, and warding off of mythical beasts.

04 : .. Family History

House Alatriste was originally an impoverished family of lower class, but always had a tradition of militarism in its midst. It was one of exceptionally few houses to acquire the right to challenge a lord to ascension by the efforts of Emilliano Alatriste, a captain at the time, performed a significant feat of seizing charge during an essentially lost battle and turning the tide. Meanwhile other members of the high command fled the battlefield. 

Upon this victory Emilliano submitted his challenge against the Lord Conde, an unlanded military official of high rank, by the Rite of Beast. The pair danced with the animal in magnificent combat, until the Lord Conde in his old age was too slow to evade the beast and was sent to the ground, crippled. Emilliano inherited his rank and status and the House Alatriste quickly ascended.

Alfonso Alatriste, son of Emilliano Alatriste, was patriarch after his father’s passing. Alfonso was not as prolific a military man as his father, but managed his fair share. However, his exceptionalism shone in his management of house funds, where he managed to acquire significant amounts of wealth in his time as patriarch. The resulting affluence was put toward the founding of the Brigada de Cazadores, and left for his son Francisco to apply to the future proliferation of the Household.

Francisco Alatriste, son of Alfonso Alatriste, son of Emilliano Alatriste, was patriarch after his father’s passing. Francisco maintained the military tradition of his forefathers, and placed himself at the head of his father’s newly established knightly order, dedicated to the pragmatic maintenance and containment of magical abnormality and mythical beasts. Francisco has been extremely vocal about his intent to acquire the family land, and his political maneuvering is ostensibly evident to most aware of politics.
