Dragons come in a variety of types, each associated with a different habitat. They are the epitome of draconic might and magic, inspiring awe and fear across the realms.

Most only know of Dragons as legends and a symbol of a God, very few ever having first hand experience and living to tell the tale.

Habitat and Society

Dragons inhabit a wide range of environments, from fiery volcanoes and icy mountains to dense forests and deep caves. Each type of dragon prefers a habitat that aligns with its elemental affinity. Dragons are solitary creatures, often establishing vast territories that they fiercely protect. They are known to accumulate great hoards of treasure. Dragons live for millennia, spending much of their time in contemplation and guarding their domains.

Known Variants

Dragons come in several variants, each with unique appearances, breath weapons, and elemental inclinations. It is assumed that they are immune to their respective elements. They say that each variant acts differently from the others, but none are able to confirm these findings.

Fire
These dragons typically are red, green, or gold in color, and breathe fire.

Frost
These dragons are typically white or silver in color, and breathe plumes of frost and snow.

Acid
These dragons are typically black or dark purple in color, and spew a stream of liquid acid.

Electric
These dragons are typically blue or light purple in color, and exhale currents of lightning.​

Drakes

Rare

Drakes are robust, wingless dragons known for their subterranean habitat and powerful fire breath. Their muscular, copper-colored bodies are covered in tough, metallic scales that provide excellent protection. Drakes have a strong, stocky build with sharp claws and teeth, making them formidable opponents even without the ability to fly. Their eyes glow with an inner fire, reflecting their affinity for the underground and their fiery nature.

Habitat and Society

Drakes make their homes in deep underground caves, tunnels, and caverns. They prefer the dark, enclosed spaces of the subterranean world, where they can dig and expand their lairs. These underground habitats often contain rich mineral deposits and precious metals, which Drakes are known to covet. Drakes are solitary creatures, but they will occasionally form loose associations with other Drakes to defend territory or share particularly resource-rich areas. Their lairs are complex and labyrinthine, filled with narrow tunnels and hidden chambers.​

Wyverns

Wyverns are fierce, dragon-like creatures known for their predatory nature and powerful physical abilities. Unlike true dragons, Wyverns have only two legs and a pair of massive wings that they use for flight. Their bodies are covered in tough, leathery scales, and they have long, whip-like tails often tipped with a venomous stinger. Wyverns possess sharp claws and teeth, making them formidable hunters. They are known for their aggressive behavior and territorial instincts, often attacking intruders without hesitation.

Habitat and Society

Wyverns inhabit remote, rugged landscapes such as mountain ranges, dense forests, and desolate wastelands. They build their nests in high, inaccessible places like cliff faces or tall trees, where they can keep watch over their territory. Wyverns are solitary by nature, coming together only to mate or to defend their territory from common threats. They are highly territorial and will fiercely defend their hunting grounds from other predators and intruders. Wyverns are not known for forming complex societies or hierarchies, but they do possess a cunning intelligence that makes them effective hunters and survivors.​

Wyrms

Wyrms are an ancient and revered type of dragon, known for their serpentine bodies and lack of limbs. These magnificent creatures possess elongated, sinuous forms covered in tough scales that often reflect the appearance of their habitat. Wyrms have fearsome, dragon-like heads with sharp teeth and glowing eyes, and their powerful tails can crush and constrict their foes. Despite their lack of arms and legs, Wyrms are incredibly agile and possess a variety of abilities. Wyrms found in oceans and seas are often referred to as ‘Sea Serpents’, but they are still considered a type of Wyrm. Wyrms are some of the most powerful fauna that can be encountered, and due to the harsh environments they reside in, are quite rare to find.

Habitats and Society

Wyrms dwell in remote, often inhospitable environments that resonate with their elemental nature. They can be found in deep ocean trenches, volcanic craters, vast deserts, and ancient forests. Wyrms are solitary creatures, rarely interacting with others of their kind except when mating. Their long lifespans and immense wisdom make them legendary figures in the world. Wyrms maintain vast territories that they defend fiercely, and they have a deep connection to the natural world around them.

Sea Serpents
Sea Serpents are Wyrms that reside in the oceans and seas of the world. They are typically more blue in color. Though comparable to Leviathans in appearance, they are much smaller and less powerful

Land Wyrms
Land Wyrms dwell in a variety of locations on land, each having slight altered appearances as a result. Some have referred to them as Earth Wyrms, Sand Wyrms, Volcanic Wyrms, Frozen Wyrms, and more names, depending on their location and appearance. All these Wyrms are classified as the same variant.​

Leviathan

Leviathans are ancient, colossal sea dragons that dwell in the deepest parts of the oceans. They are the descendants of the Ancient Wyrms, making them one of the oldest type of dragon to exist. These magnificent creatures have serpentine bodies covered in thick, scaled armor that shimmers with an ethereal glow. Their eyes are deep and knowing, filled with the wisdom of eons spent beneath the waves. Leviathans possess immense power and command over the waters, making them both awe-inspiring and terrifying to those who encounter them. It should be noted, they are the strongest natural inhabitant of the seas, and also ranks as one of the strongest living lifeforms in the natural world.

Leviathans inhabit the deepest ocean trenches and underwater caverns, where they remain hidden from the world above. They are solitary beings, each ruling vast territories within the ocean depths. Leviathans are revered by other sea creatures, who fear them as ancient threats. Though they are seldom seen by land-dwellers, their presence is often felt through the legends and myths that speak of their power.​
