Nymphs
Shardlings of Nature
+1 Intuition -1 Constitution
Max Unaltered Lifespan: 80 years
Max Height: 5’10
Languages: Common, Entil
A shardling race created by the selfish desires from the Children of the Forest. Nymphs are defined by their compatibility to nature, divided into two subspecies of Naiads and Dryads. From their conception, Nymphs began by the contamination of bloodlines from those who survived the great collapse.
In the common age, they can be born to any parents whose family tree might contain a strain of this mutation but are mostly contained to their original parenthood.

Naiads
Maximum Tail Length: 7’ (5’10 + 7’)
Appearance
The defining traits of a landlocked Naiad are glass-like water patterns that mark their skin, the colour of their eyes, and prominent gills. No pattern is quite the same, each flowing differently across their form, the colour changing from person to person. While the most common place for gills to be found is the ribs, there are cases where they sprout in different spots such as the neck. Lastly, the colour of a Naiad’s eyes will always be the same as the fish-like tail they sprout up on contact with water.
The colour of their skin is always inherited from their non-Nymph ancestry, as far down the line as that may be. For the most part, they appear to have a colder colour theme- sticking to hues of blue and white, once more this is not always the case.
Traits
Shardling - Upon contact with water, anything more than a single drop, Naiads will transform into their water-bound form until they are completely dry to the touch. There is no mechanical change to their abilities, regardless of any changes in their size due to the growth of a tail. Naiads are always capable of breathing both air and water, no matter which form they are in.
Omnivore - Naiads are able to consume all types of food and will never suffer from food-related diseases.
Dryads
Appearance
The defining traits of a Dryad are the branches that extend from their form and vestigial insect-like wings. Akin to their water counterpart, no wing pattern is quite the same nor growth pattern of these branches. The most common areas for these branches to sprout are from the head, either harmlessly from the crown of the skull or seemingly in replacement of external organs. It can be noted that these growths do not impede any of their senses.
The colour of their skin is always inherited from their non-Nymph ancestry, as far down the line as that may be. Much like the flora of the world, Dryads will often sprout leaves and flowers in season across their form.
Traits
Shardling - When surrounded by nature, the world seems to reach towards they Dryads, flowers will instead direct themselves at the Nymph instead of the sun. Trees will harmlessly bend down, not past their own limits, to make contact with the Dryad. Mundane small wild life will not be inherently afraid of Dryads, and are able to understand simple spoken word structures.
Limited Flight - Dryads, while not capable of flying, are able to slow themselves down enough during a fall that they will not injure themselves. This is limited to true gravity within a reasonable distance, and will not change the effect of outside influence (such as spells or being thrown). Their base vertical jump increases to 5 blocks, but this trait is only active if the Dryad has wings.
