Zombies

Common - Mythic

Zombies are the reanimated corpses of the dead, brought back to a semblance of life through dark magic or necromantic curses. They are slow, decaying, and mindless, driven by a primal hunger for the flesh of the living. Zombies retain little of their former selves, their bodies in various states of decomposition, with rotting flesh and vacant, soulless eyes. They are relentless and difficult to kill, making them a common tool for necromancers and dark sorcerers.

Habitat and Society

Zombies are often found in places of death and decay, such as graveyards, crypts, and abandoned ruins. They can also be encountered in areas ravaged by plague or dark magic. Zombies do not form societies or communities, as they lack the intelligence and will for such structures. They are typically created and controlled by necromancers, who use them as foot soldiers and expendable minions. Without a master to guide them, zombies will wander aimlessly, attacking any living beings they encounter.

Wights

Common - Mythic

Wights are malevolent undead creatures, reanimated from the corpses of various living beings through dark magic or curses. They retain a semblance of their former appearance, but their flesh is pallid and decayed, and their eyes glow with an eerie, unnatural light. Lacking their own will, Wights follow the commands of the necromancer or dark entity that resurrected them. They are relentless in their pursuit of their master’s goals, driven by an insatiable hatred for the living.

Habitat and Society

Wights are often found in ancient tombs, crypts, and haunted ruins, where the dark energies that animate them are strongest. They may also haunt battlefields and places of great tragedy, drawn to the lingering essence of death. Wights tend to form loose groups called "cadres," led by the most powerful among them. These cadres are organized and strategic, working together to overwhelm the living. Wights have no need for food or rest, and they relentlessly pursue their master’s goals, attacking any living beings they encounter.
