Mounts

Mounts are a powerful method of amplifying combat, by riding a creature with great skill. However, a mount has its own HP, which makes it vulnerable to enemies who attack it.
  • In most cases, mounts merely become incapacitated or flee upon reaching 0 HP.
  • In high-difficulty events or with player permission however, they can be slain.
  • When reduced to 0 HP, the rider falls receiving a Moderate Wound.
A rider must use one hand to grip the reins of their mount while they are riding it. Mounts that don’t have natural armor can be equipped with specially crafted armors.

Capabilities

When riding a mount, only skilled riders will be able to use its speed and abilities. Otherwise, they will move and dash at default speed (5-10 blocks) or slower mount speed. The skill difficulty for each is determined by a necessary level of Leadership skill investments.

A rider can attack or defend using the mount’s inherent capabilities, such as a Horse’s hooves. This will require a [Body+Leadership] roll instead of the typical roll the rider/creature would use.

Mounts cannot use the Disengage action.

Mounts Listing

A proper list of mounts will be provided as they are implemented and discovered:

Mount: Horse
Health: 8/8 HP
Speed: 10-20 blocks
Difficulty: 2/5 Leadership

Cavalry Charge - (Action)
After moving in a straight line, inflict a Moderate Wound and Knockback equal to blocks traveled (10 max).
The charge itself uses a [Body + Leadership] roll, and affects targets in a 3x2x2 area in front of the rider.
This ability cannot be used while surrounded by enemies.

Cavalry Strikes - (Bonus Action)
The rider can use a Conditional Bonus Action to make a second weapon attack.
This attack cannot be used against the same target(s) as the paired Action’s attack.

Cavalry Rush - (Reaction)
The rider avoids a single attack of opportunity as a reaction.
This ability cannot be used while surrounded by enemies.
